Now that the project has picked up even more steam I have to up the frequency of our video updates So I will now be posting a new video every two weeks to help keep each of you up to speed with how quickly the building is moving along. The focus on this video is the installation of what I am calling the heart of the building. It is a rather large air-handler system that will be attached to our four furnaces. It will also draw coolant from two condensers on the roof that will provide air-conditioning for the building if required. This air handler system controls the air movement throughout the entire building and will operate independently on each area of the building as required.
As an example when the dining room is full and the kitchen is going full speed then the air handler will increase the air flow in those areas of the building to make sure that the air doesn’t become stale – making for an uncomfortable environment. With room load sensors and temperature sensors throughout the building we can ensure that the air quality will always be at a very high standard – all without any major maintenance or high ongoing operational costs! This is a key component of the passive design – making sure that we get the air quality and air movement correct inside the building. Check out the video below and enjoy!
